A quantity of watermelons was exported from Sonora to the l'nited Sta.tes vía Nogales. The melons were charged duty at 25 per cent. ad valorom, being considered by fue American custom house authorities as «vegetables in tbeir natural state.» The classification wa.s disputed, the importers asserting that the melons should properly be classifiecl as ccgreen fruit,>, and therefore exempt from duty.
